After the workpiece is clamped once on the machining center, the digital control system can control the machine tool to automatically select and replace the tool according to different processes, automatically change the spindle speed, feed and movement trajectory of the tool relative to the workpiece and other auxiliary functions, and complete the processing of multiple processes on several surfaces of the workpiece in turn. And there are a variety of tool change or tool selection functions, so that the production efficiency is greatly improved.
Vertical machining center refers to a machining center where the spindle axis is perpendicular to the worktable, and is mainly suitable for processing complex parts such as plates, discs, molds and small shells. Vertical machining centers can complete milling, boring, drilling, tapping and thread cutting. The vertical machining center is at least three-axis and two-linkage, and can generally realize three-axis and three-linkage. Some can be controlled by five or six axes. The height of the column of the vertical machining center is limited, and the processing range of the box workpiece should be reduced, which is the disadvantage of the vertical machining center. However, the vertical machining center is convenient for workpiece clamping and positioning, the movement track of the cutting tool is easy to observe, the debugging program is convenient for inspection and measurement, and the problem can be found in time and stopped for processing or modification; the cooling conditions are easy to establish, and the cutting fluid can directly reach the tool and the machining surface; the three coordinate axes are consistent with the Cartesian coordinate system, and the feeling is intuitive and consistent with the perspective of the pattern, and the chips are easy to remove and fall, so as to avoid scratching the machined surface. Compared with the corresponding horizontal machining center, the structure is simple, the floor space is smaller, and the price is lower.
